Gabi and Philip Make Their Way Back to Salem
The latest Days of Our Lives weekly preview for September 21 opens with Gabi and Philip officially returning to Salem after their time away. While the two spend time together in the town square, Philip gives Gabi credit for the incredible run of luck he experienced in Monte Carlo. He tells her that having her around as his lucky charm made all the difference and suggests he never could have enjoyed the same success without her.
Unfortunately, the celebration may not last for long. In the very next moment, Philip rushes back to the Kiriakis mansion and is stunned to discover that the place appears completely deserted. The unsettling sight immediately raises questions about what happened while he was gone. Has Philip returned too late to protect his family’s home?
Is Joy Preparing to Pretend She Is Paralyzed?
Meanwhile, trouble appears to be brewing at the hospital, where Joy may be putting together a dangerous new plan. She is seen using her phone to search for information about “nerve conduction studies,” a detail that immediately makes her intentions seem suspicious.
Could Joy actually be researching ways to convince everyone that she has lost the ability to move? Judging by the clues in the promo, it certainly appears possible that she may be preparing to fake paralysis as part of a much larger scheme.
Elsewhere in Salem, Johnny may still be without his twin sister Allie, but another member of his family has returned. His younger sister Sydney is officially back in town, giving the siblings an opportunity to reconnect after spending time apart.
During their conversation, Sydney begins wondering whether remaining in Salem might actually be a good idea. Johnny, however, does not exactly encourage her. Instead, he gives his sister a rather serious warning, telling her that if he were in her position, staying in town is probably the last thing he would choose to do.
At the same time, Holly’s situation becomes even more intense when she finally confronts Mason directly. Rather than avoiding the difficult subject, Holly asks him exactly what she wants to know: “Do you think I’m responsible for Sophia’s death?”
Mason’s reaction strongly suggests that he does, in fact, believe Holly carries at least some of the blame for what happened. The confrontation could create even more tension for Holly as the fallout surrounding Sophia’s death continues to spread through Salem.
In another major development, Cat and EJ come face-to-face following his return, and their conversation quickly becomes heated. Cat makes it clear that she believes there is no point pretending either of them is confused about what is happening.
“You know exactly what’s going on, and so do I,” she tells him, setting the stage for what could become another explosive confrontation.
Marlena Receives an Unbelievable Surprise
The biggest shock of the week, however, may belong to Marlena, who is about to receive information that could completely change her understanding of Dominic Marino and his connection to Salem.
Even Dominic’s surname is beginning to generate speculation. Marino has viewers looking for hidden meanings, with some fans jokingly breaking the name apart—Mar possibly pointing toward Marlena and ino perhaps hinting at Stefano. Whether that theory means anything remains to be seen, but the mystery is clearly growing.
Steve arrives with a major breakthrough and tells Marlena that they have finally managed to locate Dominic Marino’s birth certificate.
Marlena carefully examines the document and quickly notices one detail that is not entirely unexpected: Stefano is officially listed as Dominic’s father.
But the real surprise comes moments later.
When Marlena looks at the name written in the section identifying Dominic’s mother, her entire reaction changes. Whatever she sees leaves her completely stunned and raises a question that could send shockwaves throughout Salem.
Could Marlena herself actually be Dominic’s biological mother?
If that turns out to be true, the revelation could dramatically reshape Dominic’s history while also creating another astonishing connection between Marlena and Stefano.
