Gabi and Philip Make Their Way Back to Salem
The Days of Our Lives weekly preview for September 21 begins with Gabi and Philip finally returning to Salem in dramatic fashion! While spending time together in the town square, Philip gives Gabi credit for the incredible run of luck he recently enjoyed in Monte Carlo. He tells her that none of it would have happened without his personal lucky charm by his side.
Unfortunately, their cheerful mood doesn’t last for very long.
In the next scene, Philip rushes into the Kiriakis mansion expecting to find his family there, only to discover that the house is completely deserted. The shocking sight immediately raises a troubling question: has Philip returned too late to prevent the family home from slipping away?
Could Joy Be Preparing to Pretend She’s Paralyzed?
Meanwhile, trouble may be brewing at the hospital, where Joy appears to be working on a very risky plan. She is seen carefully searching her phone for information about “nerve conduction studies,” and that detail immediately raises suspicions.
Could Joy actually be researching the condition because she intends to pretend that she can no longer move?
Judging by the clues shown in the promo, that possibility certainly shouldn’t be ruled out.
Elsewhere in Salem, Johnny may not currently have his twin sister Allie nearby, but another member of his family has returned. His younger sister Sydney is officially back in town, giving the siblings a chance to reconnect after spending time apart.
During their conversation, Sydney openly wonders whether she should remain in Salem for a while.
Johnny, however, doesn’t exactly encourage her.
Instead, he gives his sister a rather ominous warning and tells her that if he were in her position, he probably wouldn’t stay.
That statement alone suggests Sydney could be walking into far more drama than she realizes.
At the same time, Holly finds herself facing another emotionally charged situation when she finally confronts Mason directly.
Rather than avoiding the subject, Holly asks him the question that has clearly been weighing heavily on her mind.
“Do you think I’m responsible for Sophia’s death?”
Mason’s reaction says plenty.
From the way he responds, it appears he does believe Holly carries at least some responsibility for what happened to Sophia, which could create even more tension between them in the days ahead.
There is also major drama involving Cat and EJ after EJ returns to Salem.
The two sit down for what quickly becomes a very intense conversation, and Cat makes it clear that she believes both of them already understand exactly what is happening.
“You know perfectly well what’s going on, and so do I,” she tells him.
Whatever Cat believes EJ is hiding, it seems she may finally be ready to demand answers.
Marlena Receives a Stunning Revelation
The biggest surprise of the promo, however, appears to be reserved for Marlena.
She is about to receive information that could completely reshape everything she thought she knew about Dominic—and strangely enough, the entire mystery seems connected to the surname Marino.
Even the name itself has fans speculating.
Could “Mar” somehow point toward Marlena, while another part of the name connects back to Stefano?
It may sound like a coincidence, but in Salem, coincidences rarely stay simple for long.
Steve soon arrives with a major discovery.
He reveals that they have finally managed to locate Dominic Marino’s birth certificate, potentially providing the first official clue about Dominic’s true parentage.
Marlena carefully examines the document.
Almost immediately, she notices something extraordinary.
Stefano is officially listed as Dominic’s father.
That revelation alone would be enough to send shockwaves through Salem, but it is apparently not the detail that leaves Marlena completely stunned.
Her attention shifts to the name written beside the word “mother.”
The moment Marlena reads it, she appears frozen in disbelief.
Whatever name appears on that birth certificate clearly means something deeply personal to her.
And that leads to the biggest question of all.
Could Marlena herself actually be Dominic Marino’s mother?
If that turns out to be true, the revelation would create an enormous new chapter in both Marlena’s history and the already complicated DiMera family story.

How could Marlena have a son she seemingly knew nothing about?
What role did Stefano play in keeping Dominic’s identity hidden?
And who else may have known the truth all these years?
With Stefano’s name already appearing on the document, it certainly seems possible that another long-buried DiMera secret is finally beginning to surface.
