General Hospital has officially wrapped up Jacinda Bracken’s storyline, bringing Paige Herschell’s run on the ABC daytime drama to an end after more than a year of portraying the unpredictable and often troublesome character. Soap Opera Digest has confirmed that Herschell has departed the series and that Jacinda’s exit was planned as part of the ongoing storyline.
How Did Jacinda Leave GH?
Jacinda’s time in Port Charles came to an abrupt conclusion during the Tuesday, August 11 episode. After Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) obtained a restraining order against her, preventing Jacinda from having any contact with young Wiley (Viron Weaver) and Amelia (Sienna Goerisch), Jacinda decided to strike back. She secretly slipped molly into Willow’s coffee, setting off a chain of events that ultimately destroyed her relationship with Michael.
Michael (Rory Gibson), Willow’s former husband and Jacinda’s boyfriend, was horrified when he learned what she had done. What made the situation even worse was that his children were with Willow when she unknowingly drank the drugged coffee.
After stepping in to help Willow and disposing of the incriminating evidence — including the coffee cup — Michael confronted Jacinda about her reckless decision. He feared that her actions could give Willow exactly the ammunition she needed to challenge him for custody of their children.
Michael then delivered devastating news to Jacinda: their relationship was over, and she could no longer remain in Port Charles. He provided her with money so she could start over somewhere far away from town, and the emotional pair shared a painful, tear-filled farewell before going their separate ways.
Paige Herschell’s GH History
Jacinda was initially created as a temporary character. She first appeared as a paid escort hired by Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Portia (Brook Kerr), who recruited her as part of a scheme against Drew (Cameron Mathison). Their plan involved having Jacinda drug Drew with ketamine so that he would lose control and embarrass himself publicly.
When Soap Opera Digest spoke with Herschell last year, the actress admitted that she had been genuinely surprised to land the role because Jacinda was so dramatically different from her own personality.
Herschell explained that the character felt like the complete opposite of who she was in real life. After sending in her audition tape, she assumed that would probably be the end of it. She had enjoyed performing the material but never expected the audition to lead to anything more.
Jacinda’s first short storyline eventually ended when the character was sent away to Australia. At the time, Herschell believed her work on the show was finished.
She later recalled thinking that Jacinda’s story had simply reached its conclusion. However, after having such a positive experience working with the cast and crew, she found herself wishing she had been given more time on the series.
Several months later, Herschell received unexpected news that General Hospital wanted to continue exploring Jacinda’s story.
The actress remembered being extremely excited when she received the call inviting her back to the soap.
When Jacinda returned to Port Charles in September 2025, she became involved in a complicated arrangement with Michael. She agreed to pretend to be his romantic partner in order to help provide him with an alibi for the night Drew was shot.
What began as a calculated arrangement soon became something much more genuine. The fake relationship gradually developed into a real romance, and Jacinda and Michael officially became a couple.
Herschell also had plenty of praise for her on-screen partner Rory Gibson, describing him as an excellent scene partner and someone who brought a calming presence to their work together.
She explained that Gibson was incredibly grounded and kind, which helped balance her own naturally energetic and sometimes chaotic personality. Whenever they filmed scenes together, she felt he created a relaxed atmosphere that allowed them to connect more naturally and experiment with their performances.
Herschell added that she was especially happy to have Gibson as the actor she continued being paired with as Jacinda and Michael’s relationship developed.
However, less than a full year after Jacinda made her return to Port Charles, the show has now decided to close the chapter on her character and bring her storyline to an end.
