Weekly Recap

Monday, September 7, 2026 – Episode #15460

Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) was furious after discovering that Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) had taken care of Kelsey (Lena and Mira Chase), allowing Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) to spend the night with Stephanie (Abigail Klein). When Alex later came by to see her, Joy presented him with custody documents containing a strict condition: Stephanie had to remain at least 10 feet away from Kelsey for a minimum of one year. Alex initially pushed back against the demand.

Joy then warned him that if anything happened to her and he refused to accept the agreement, she would arrange for Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) to receive custody instead. Faced with the ultimatum, Alex signed the paperwork. Stephanie was devastated when she discovered what he had agreed to.

Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) became increasingly wary of Johnny (Carson Boatman) after Johnny repeatedly insisted that he should meet George O’Halloran (Michael Rose) by himself. Eventually, Johnny allowed Theo to deal with George so he could accompany Chanel (Raven Bowens) to her chemotherapy appointment. Paulina (Jackée Harry) was irritated when Johnny arrived late for Chanel’s treatment.

Marlena (Deidre Hall) suddenly remembered seeing the Celtic cross on a blanket during the time she had been held on Stefano’s (Joseph Mascolo) island. Later, she confronted Johnny directly about why he appeared to be avoiding her.

Johnny admitted that he had indeed been keeping his distance, but explained that he could not reveal the reason because doing so might put EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) in danger. He assured Marlena there was nothing she needed to worry about and insisted that he had the situation under control.

Elsewhere, Abe (James Reynolds) unexpectedly crossed paths with Paulina in Horton Town Square, leading to an uncomfortable conversation. Paulina acknowledged the loss of Lexie (Nikki Crawford) and apologized for never sending Abe a sympathy card. Abe admitted that Paulina had been on his mind and asked whether she had ever thought about him as well. The question overwhelmed Paulina, prompting her to quickly walk away.

Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) approached Kate (Lauren Koslow) and asked her to arrange for Ari (Vico Escorcia) to lose her internship at DiMera Enterprises. Kate agreed, but in return she asked Gabi to keep a close eye on Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) during their upcoming trip.

Kate feared that Philip might attempt something reckless in his determination to rescue Titan. Gabi promised she would look out for him. Meanwhile, Leo (Greg Rikaart) discovered that Kate had officially become his new boss.

Kate told Leo that she wanted him to launch a podcast. Gwen (Emily O’Brien), meanwhile, updated Leo on her plan to work alongside EJ through the hospital. Leo immediately predicted that the arrangement was destined to become a disaster.

EJ contacted Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) and told her he had traveled to Italy to see Sydney (Sydney Malakeh), only to later discover that Sydney was not actually in Italy.

Cat admitted that she missed EJ, which caused him to remember her confession about previously working for the ISA. Chad (Conner Floyd) and Belle (Martha Madison) ran into a roadblock in their investigation, so they decided to temporarily put the mystery aside and enjoy the romantic surroundings.

Their peaceful mood did not last long once EJ appeared. Chad told him that he should return to Salem, but EJ refused. Later, Chad and Belle gave in to their attraction and ended up sleeping together.

Gwen and Cat caught up on everything that had recently happened, especially the complicated developments involving EJ. Gabi eventually joined their conversation.

Gabi admitted that she once had an affair with EJ and explained that he had used Ari in order to steal the latest Gabi Chic handbag design. Leo soon arrived, and Gabi revealed his theory that DiMera Enterprises might be connected to questionable business dealings.

Cat challenged both Leo and Gabi to provide actual evidence supporting their suspicions. Meanwhile, EJ called Rita (Maggie Carney) and questioned her about his missing ring. Rita insisted that nobody had recovered it.

However, an envelope containing EJ’s ring was later delivered to the mysterious man sitting near Stefano’s portrait and chessboard. The unidentified man opened the package and slipped the ring onto his finger.

Kayla encouraged Stephanie not to surrender on her marriage to Alex. Her advice, however, did little to change Stephanie’s mood. Stephanie remained emotional and began wondering whether her relationship with Alex had been doomed from the beginning.

Alex and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) were both nearby when Joy finally woke following her surgery. Sarah reassured Joy that the operation itself had gone exactly as planned.

While recovering, Joy imagined an alternate life with Alex set in the 1980s, where the couple discovered that Kelsey was about to become a big sister.

Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla watched Kelsey so Alex and Stephanie could have some private time together. Their conversation did not last long, however, because Kayla examined Joy and discovered something alarming: Joy could no longer feel her legs.

Joy immediately panicked, with Alex remaining by her side. Kayla tried to calm everyone by explaining that the paralysis might not be permanent.

Steve later told Brady (Eric Martsolf) that Johnny was responsible for leaving the message that read, “arsenic for Sarah” (Linsey Godfrey).

They then reviewed hospital security footage that appeared to show Johnny. George angrily confronted Johnny for forcing him to meet Theo alone and warned that he had no intention of taking responsibility for the contaminated Coriseal.

Elsewhere, Xander (Paul Telfer) encountered Sarah at the Brady Pub. The former couple admitted that they both wished events surrounding the estate and Titan had unfolded differently.

Xander later left the pub to visit Johnny. During their conversation, the two men unexpectedly connected over their experiences as fathers.

Johnny apologized for EJ’s actions involving Titan, while Xander expressed regret about the plagiarism situation. Xander advised Johnny to protect his relationship with Chanel and hold onto his children no matter what happened.

Brady later explained Johnny’s role in the Coriseal cover-up to Sarah and also told her how Johnny had helped save Holly (Ashley Puzemis). Together, Brady and Sarah agreed that DiMera Pharmaceuticals needed to face serious pressure.

In Monte Carlo, Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Gabi finally arrived at the casino. Gabi admitted that Kate had been deeply worried about Philip and had specifically asked her to make sure he stayed out of trouble.

The pair were stunned when they suddenly spotted Sydney at the casino.

Sydney explained that Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) fiancé, Dante Vitali (Franco LoPresti), was organizing the poker game. Dante had arranged for Sydney to receive a seat at the table in exchange for a percentage of whatever money she managed to win.

Philip, Gabi, and Sydney quickly reached an agreement that none of them would reveal their involvement in the secret poker game.

Back in Salem, Ari spent time getting closer to Mason (Brandon Butler), but her attitude changed once she discovered how he had behaved toward Holly.

When Ari learned that Mason had worked with Marlena at a mental health hotline, she confronted him and demanded an explanation. Mason admitted that Holly had hurt someone he personally knew and deeply cared about.

Elsewhere, Marlena and Kate shared a warm conversation about Kate’s new position at The Spectator. Ari later learned that she had been dismissed from her DiMera internship and told Kate and Marlena what had happened.

Ari immediately blamed herself for losing the position. Kate privately felt guilty because she knew the truth, but she reassured Ari by telling her that unexpected firings were simply part of corporate life.

Leo attempted to charm Javi (Jacob Martinez) into giving their friendship another chance.

Javi was stunned when he discovered that Leo had been secretly gathering information and advice about him from Gabi.

Meanwhile, Tate (Leo Howard) and Holly decided to escape to the lake and enjoy some time together after Holly experienced yet another uncomfortable encounter with Mason.

Their relaxing afternoon quickly became unsettling when Holly received a message from an unknown phone number asking, “Are you having fun?”

Friday, September 11, 2026 – Episode #15464

Gwen told Leo that her effort to take control of the hospital had officially failed after Rafe (Galen Gering) provided the board with her letter describing the questionable things she had done with EJ.

Gwen demanded to know whether Leo had told anyone else about the letter. Leo immediately remembered accidentally revealing information about it to Cat.

Rafe later updated Cat about everything that had happened with Gwen. Cat admitted that she was worried she might have destroyed her cover with EJ after confessing that she had once worked for the ISA.

EJ ignoring Cat’s phone call only made her anxiety worse.

Gwen eventually confronted Rafe, who openly celebrated his victory. Rafe confidently announced that he believed he was getting closer to finally bringing EJ down.

Leo confronted Cat about the missing letter, but Cat denied knowing anything about it.

He also attempted to gather additional information about DiMera Enterprises as part of his plan to expose the counterfeit Gabi Chic merchandise. Cat refused to provide him with anything useful.

At Titan, Xander began packing up his office when Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) arrived.

The two discussed how much Xander had changed and how deeply he still loved Sarah. Maggie told him that she was proud of the man he had become.

Xander confessed that he could never imagine loving another woman the way he loved Sarah. He also revealed how devastated he had been after overhearing Sarah tell Brady that she loved him.

Meanwhile, Rita updated EJ on several developments. She confirmed that Cat’s history with the ISA had checked out, Gwen’s hospital proposal had been rejected, and the sale of the Kiriakis estate had officially been completed.

EJ was furious after receiving the news.

Chad and Belle later received an unexpected dinner reservation. When they investigated where it had come from, they uncovered three additional clues.

Belle contacted Paul (Christopher Sean), who discovered that the clues pointed toward a piazza that had once been home to a Holy Cross convent — another connection to the mysterious Celtic cross.

The property now belonged to Dominic Marino, the same mysterious man who had recently purchased the Kiriakis estate.
