Days of our Lives Spoilers June 5: Johnny Pleads With Chanel to Reconsider Her Decision. Emotions reach a boiling point on Days of our Lives! Chanel makes a startling medical decision that leaves Johnny shaken and desperate. At the same time, EJ begins preparing his next major business move. Could these risky choices tear Salem apart?

Days of our Lives spoilers for Friday, June 5, show that Johnny strongly believes a woman has the right to make her own choices. That is, until the woman making the choice is his wife — and her decision is one he cannot accept.

Johnny and Chanel Hit a Crisis Point Over Her Future
Chanel (Raven Bowens) was unhappy that her doctor seemed interested only in treating her cancer, so she told Johnny (Carson Boatman) that she had no plans to follow the proposed treatment. Instead, she would allow the illness to progress and simply wait to see what happens.

Previously, Johnny promised Chanel that he would support whatever decision she made. But this is the one choice he cannot stand behind.

EJ Looks at Theo as the Next DiMera Force
EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) realizes that Johnny’s focus is nowhere near business right now, so he turns to Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) and asks him to become Johnny’s trusted right-hand man. Now that Theo knows Lexie (Nikki Campbell) supports the idea of him stepping into a stronger DiMera role, he becomes more willing to consider it.

But what is EJ really planning? Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) believes she has enough influence over him to keep him in check. After all, the two share that unusual bond from their old book club days. Rafe (Galen Gering), however, is not convinced. He sees EJ as far more dangerous than Cat wants to admit. He warns her, but she brushes him off. Someone is about to be very, very mistaken.

Abe Looks for Guidance About Life After Lexie’s Return
Abe (James Reynolds) accepted Paulina (Jackée Harry) stepping out of his life so he could reconnect with Lexie. Lexie is now living under the same roof with him, although the whole situation still feels uncomfortable.

Abe does not know exactly how he should act, so he reaches out to someone who has plenty of experience with spouses returning from the dead — Marlena (Deidre Hall). She lived through it with Roman (Josh Taylor), and she also experienced it with John (Drake Hogysten). If anyone can offer Abe advice, it is Marlena.

The strain between Johnny and Chanel keeps growing as both refuse to give ground. What started as a painful conversation about Chanel’s health has become an emotional battle involving trust, love, fear, and the right to choose. Chanel remains committed to making her own decisions about her treatment, even if those decisions leave the people closest to her terrified about what may come next.

Johnny is torn between honoring his wife’s independence and fearing that her decision could cost her everything. He understands why Chanel feels angry and frustrated with doctors who seem to focus only on clinical answers, but he cannot accept the idea of losing her without fighting. Each conversation between them seems to end in hurt and frustration, and the emotional gap opening between them becomes harder to deny.

As the day continues, Chanel opens up to Paulina, hoping her mother will see things from her point of view. Paulina is deeply frightened, but she also knows her daughter has always been strong-willed and independent. Instead of forcing Chanel in one direction, she urges her to think carefully about every possibility before reaching a final decision. Even so, Paulina privately worries that Chanel’s determination could lead her toward a very dangerous outcome.

Meanwhile, Johnny turns to Marlena for support. He admits that he feels powerless watching the woman he loves refuse treatment that might save her life. Marlena listens with compassion and reminds him that fear can push people into choices others do not understand. She advises him to pay closer attention to Chanel’s emotional pain rather than trying to pressure her into a solution. Johnny values Marlena’s words, but they do little to calm the panic building inside him.

Elsewhere in Salem, EJ continues maneuvering quietly as he works to reinforce the DiMera empire. With Johnny consumed by personal problems, EJ believes the company needs another capable figure to step forward. His attention remains fixed on Theo, whom he views as someone with significant promise and value.

Theo is interested in EJ’s proposal, but he remains careful. He understands that becoming involved in the DiMera family business could completely reshape his future. Lexie, however, encourages him to consider the opportunity seriously. She believes Theo deserves the chance to prove himself and create a future that goes beyond the limits others have placed on him.

Even with Lexie’s support, Theo cannot fully shake the suspicion that EJ may have another agenda. Salem residents have learned over the years that EJ rarely makes a move without a bigger plan behind it. Theo begins pressing for details about the exact role EJ expects him to take, and the answers he receives only make him more uneasy.

At the same time, Cat remains certain that she understands EJ. Their strange past connection gives her confidence that she can read him, predict his moves, and even influence his choices. Rafe, however, strongly disagrees. He warns Cat that taking EJ too lightly could become a serious mistake.

Rafe knows from experience just how far EJ is willing to go when he wants something. He believes Cat is letting personal history cloud her judgment. During a tense exchange, Rafe urges her to stay alert and avoid getting pulled into whatever game EJ is quietly setting up.

Cat refuses to take Rafe’s warning seriously. She insists that she knows EJ better than people realize. But as new developments begin to unfold, even Cat starts noticing small signs that EJ may be keeping something important hidden. The thought that Rafe might be right begins to settle in the back of her mind.

Meanwhile, Abe tries to adjust to the complicated reality of Lexie’s return. Though he is grateful for another chance with the woman he loves, the situation is much more difficult than he imagined. Years apart have left emotional spaces between them that cannot be repaired in a single day.

Living together again forces Abe and Lexie to face unresolved emotions and unanswered questions about where they go from here. Both want the relationship to work, yet neither of them is completely sure how to move forward. Simple daily moments that should feel comfortable instead become awkward reminders of everything time has changed.

Looking for advice, Abe turns to Marlena. He knows she has faced similar situations and hopes she can give him some clarity. Marlena shares lessons from her own complicated romantic past and reminds Abe that rebuilding a relationship requires patience, honesty, and realistic expectations.

Their discussion gives Abe a fresh way of looking at things. Rather than trying to recreate what he and Lexie once had, he starts to understand that they may need to build something new. They are no longer exactly the same people they were before, and their relationship must grow with who they have become.

Back at the DiMera mansion, EJ receives information that could drastically shift his plans. A new business opening appears, but taking advantage of it may demand sacrifices from several members of the family. As EJ considers his next step, it becomes clearer that his interest in Theo may be part of a much larger strategy.

Johnny eventually finds out about EJ’s increasing involvement with Theo and immediately grows suspicious. With everything already happening in his marriage, the last thing Johnny wants is another family conflict. Still, he cannot ignore the possibility that his father is manipulating the situation for his own advantage.

The confrontation that follows is charged with tension. Johnny challenges EJ’s motives and accuses him of exploiting vulnerable moments. EJ responds with his usual confidence, claiming he is only protecting the future of the family. Neither of them is willing to retreat, setting the stage for another serious DiMera clash.

As evening nears, Chanel reaches a turning point. After thinking over the conversations she has had throughout the day, she begins to reconsider certain parts of her decision. She still values her independence, but she can no longer ignore the pain her choices are causing the people who love her.

Whether this will truly change her mind remains unclear. What is certain is that Chanel’s journey is nowhere near finished. Her struggle is no longer only about medical treatment — it is about control, identity, fear, and the future she wants to claim for herself.

By the end of the episode, several stories are left unresolved. Johnny and Chanel’s marriage faces one of its most difficult challenges yet. Theo must decide whether to accept EJ’s offer or turn away from an opportunity that could become dangerous. Cat begins questioning everything she thought she understood about EJ, while Abe and Lexie continue trying to rebuild a relationship shaped by time, loss, and uncertainty.

With secrets forming, loyalties shifting, and emotions running high, Salem is moving toward another explosive chapter. The choices being made now may leave lasting consequences, and not everyone will come through these conflicts the same.
