She told Xander that admitting fault and actually repairing the damage are not the same thing, then gave him a way to make things right. Whether that solution was fair no longer seemed to matter as much.
Maybe this is simply what grief can do to a person. Maybe losing John has stripped away some of the restraint, patience, and compassion Marlena spent decades building. Or maybe this part of her was always there, hidden beneath her professionalism and empathy. Whatever the truth may be, Salem has now seen a Marlena who no longer seems determined to take the higher road. And if this is the woman emerging in the aftermath of John’s death, she may be far more dangerous than anyone expected.
