Days of our Lives Spoilers June 5: Johnny Pleads With Chanel to Reconsider Her Decision. Emotions erupt in Salem as Days of our Lives reaches another dramatic turning point! 💥 Chanel makes a stunning medical decision that leaves Johnny shaken and desperate. At the same time, EJ begins positioning himself for a powerful new corporate play. Could these risky choices tear Salem apart for good? 😱👇
Days of our Lives spoilers for Friday, June 5, reveal that Johnny believes strongly in a woman’s right to make her own choice. At least, he does in theory. But when that woman is his wife, and the decision she is making could change everything, Johnny suddenly finds himself struggling to accept it.
Johnny and Chanel Hit a Painful Crossroads Over Her Future
Chanel (Raven Bowens) was upset that her doctor seemed focused only on attacking the cancer, without truly listening to her fears or concerns. Because of that, she told Johnny (Carson Boatman) she had no plans to follow the treatment plan being recommended. Instead, she was prepared to let the illness progress and see where things went.
At first, Johnny promised Chanel that he would support whatever decision she made. But this choice is different. This is one decision he simply cannot bring himself to stand behind.
EJ Looks at Theo as the Next Rising Force in the DiMera Family
EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) realizes that Johnny’s focus is nowhere near the business right now, so he turns his attention to Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews), asking him to step in as Johnny’s trusted right-hand man. Now that Theo knows Lexie (Nikki Campbell) supports the idea of him becoming a major DiMera player, he appears much more willing to consider it.

But what is EJ really planning? Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) believes she has him under control. After all, the two share that strange bond connected to their past book club. Rafe (Galen Gering), however, is far less convinced. He believes EJ is a much more dangerous threat than Cat understands. He tries to warn her. She brushes him off. Someone is about to be proven very, very wrong.
Abe Looks for Guidance as He Faces Life After Lexie’s Return
Abe (James Reynolds) accepted Paulina (Jackée Harry) stepping away from his life so he could reunite with Lexie. Now Lexie is living under the same roof with him again, but the situation is still filled with tension and uncertainty.
Abe does not know exactly how he is supposed to act, so he turns to someone who has plenty of experience dealing with spouses returning from the dead — Marlena (Deidre Hall). She lived through it with Roman (Josh Taylor), and she also lived through it with John (Drake Hogestyn). If anyone can offer Abe useful advice, it is Marlena.
The conflict between Johnny and Chanel only grows stronger as both of them refuse to give in. What started as a painful conversation about Chanel’s health has now become an emotional clash about trust, love, fear, and the right to make personal choices. Chanel remains determined to control what happens to her own body, even if her decision terrifies the people who love her most.
Johnny is trapped between wanting to respect his wife’s independence and fearing that her decision could cost her everything. He understands that Chanel feels frustrated by doctors who seem to see only the disease and not the person fighting it. Still, he cannot accept the idea of standing by while she refuses a treatment that might save her life. Every discussion between them seems to collapse into heartbreak, and the distance forming between them becomes harder to deny.
As the day continues, Chanel turns to Paulina, hoping her mother will understand what she is feeling. Paulina is deeply frightened for her daughter, but she also knows Chanel has always had a powerful independent streak. Instead of trying to force her opinion on Chanel, Paulina urges her to think through every possible path before making a final choice. Even so, Paulina quietly worries that Chanel’s stubbornness could push her toward a devastating outcome.
Meanwhile, Johnny reaches out to Marlena for emotional support. He admits that he feels powerless watching the woman he loves reject a treatment that could possibly keep her alive. Marlena listens with compassion and reminds him that fear can drive people toward choices that others may not understand. She encourages him to focus less on forcing Chanel to change her mind and more on understanding what is happening inside her emotionally. Johnny is grateful for the guidance, but it does little to calm the panic growing inside him.
Elsewhere in Salem, EJ continues to move pieces around behind the scenes as he works to strengthen the DiMera empire. With Johnny overwhelmed by his personal crisis, EJ believes the company needs another strong figure to step forward. His attention remains centered on Theo, whom he views as someone with great value, promise, and untapped power.
Theo is interested in what EJ is offering, but he is not ready to jump in blindly. He understands that getting involved in the DiMera family business could reshape his entire future. Lexie, however, encourages him to at least consider the opportunity seriously. She believes Theo deserves a chance to show what he is capable of and to create a future that is not limited by what other people expect from him.
Still, even with Lexie’s encouragement, Theo cannot ignore the feeling that EJ may be working with hidden motives. Salem has learned over the years that EJ rarely makes any move without a deeper strategy behind it. Theo begins asking more pointed questions about what EJ truly expects from him, and the answers he receives only make him more suspicious.
At the same time, Cat remains certain that she understands EJ better than most people do. Their unusual connection has made her believe she can read his behavior and even influence his choices. Rafe strongly disagrees. He warns Cat that treating EJ like someone she can predict could become a very serious mistake.
Rafe has personally seen just how far EJ is willing to go when he wants something. He believes Cat is letting her personal feelings interfere with her judgment. During a tense exchange, Rafe pushes her to stay alert, protect herself, and avoid being pulled into whatever scheme EJ may be building.
Cat refuses to take Rafe’s warnings seriously. She insists that she knows EJ in a way others do not. But as new developments begin to unfold, even Cat starts noticing small signs that suggest EJ may be keeping something important hidden. The uncomfortable possibility that Rafe might be right begins to settle quietly in the back of her mind.
Meanwhile, Abe continues struggling to adjust to the reality of Lexie being back in his life. He is grateful for another chance with the woman he has loved for so long, but the situation is much more complicated than he imagined it would be. Years apart have left emotional spaces between them that cannot simply disappear overnight.
Sharing a home again forces Abe and Lexie to face old feelings, unanswered questions, and uncertainty about where they go from here. Both of them want this relationship to work, but neither one knows exactly how to move forward. Simple everyday moments that should feel comfortable instead become awkward reminders of all the time they lost.
Looking for advice, Abe turns to Marlena. He knows she has faced complicated returns and tangled romantic histories of her own, and he hopes she can help him make sense of what he is feeling. Marlena shares pieces of her own experience and reminds Abe that rebuilding a relationship takes patience, honesty, and the willingness to accept that things may never be exactly as they once were.
That conversation gives Abe a clearer perspective. Instead of trying to recreate the past, he begins to understand that he and Lexie may need to build something entirely new. They are not the same people they were before, and if their love is going to survive, it must grow into something that fits who they are now.
Back at the DiMera mansion, EJ receives information that could dramatically shift his plans. A fresh business opportunity appears, but chasing it may demand sacrifices from more than one member of the family. As EJ considers his next move, it becomes more obvious that his sudden interest in Theo may be part of a much bigger strategy.
Johnny eventually finds out that EJ has been pulling Theo closer into the family business, and he immediately becomes suspicious. With everything happening in his marriage, Johnny does not want another family crisis exploding around him. Still, he cannot ignore the possibility that his father is using the chaos around them to serve his own agenda.
The confrontation that follows is explosive. Johnny challenges EJ’s motives and accuses him of exploiting vulnerable people and fragile situations. EJ answers with his usual confidence, claiming he is only thinking about the long-term future of the family. Neither father nor son is willing to step back, creating the perfect setup for yet another major DiMera battle.
As evening gets closer, Chanel reaches a major emotional turning point. After thinking about all the conversations she has had during the day, she starts to reconsider parts of her decision. She still values her independence and wants control over her own life, but she can no longer ignore how deeply her choice is hurting the people who care about her.
Whether this moment will truly change her mind remains unclear. What is certain is that Chanel’s journey is far from finished. Her battle is no longer only about treatment or illness. It has become a struggle over identity, control, fear, love, and the kind of future she wants to fight for.
By the end of the episode, several stories are left hanging in dangerous uncertainty. Johnny and Chanel’s marriage is facing one of the hardest tests it has ever known. Theo must decide whether to accept EJ’s offer or walk away from an opportunity that could come with serious risks. Cat begins questioning everything she believed she understood about EJ, while Abe and Lexie continue trying to rebuild a relationship shaped by love, loss, and time.
With secrets forming, loyalties shifting, and emotions reaching dangerous highs, Salem is moving toward another explosive chapter. The decisions being made now could leave consequences that last far beyond this day, and not everyone will come out of these conflicts the same person they were before.
